Compact House Bathroom

Full refit of the dated main family bathroom in a Victorian semi. The room measured only 2m x 2m but needed to accommodate a shower, bath and plenty of storage. The client wanted a neutral, timeless scheme, with a feeling of space, that would cope with robust family life. As the only bath in the house, they also wanted a spa like feel.  This was a challenge we relished!

We used 2D plans and 3D photorealistic models to help the client visualise the scheme and demonstrate the improved feeling of space.

The airy feel was achieved by wall-mounting the basin, toilet and storage, replacing the radiator and heated towel rail with a single, dual-fuel towel rail relocated into one corner to free up floor space, and choosing the fabulous and curvaceous Waters of Ashbourne bath with shower over. We tiled the whole room in neutral large format tiles from Mandarin Stone using a herringbone tile on one wall for contrast, and dark grout to emphasize the tile design and for practicality.

Earthy tones and textures were used to add warmth including a pale terracotta ceiling and woodwork, and solid oak storage.
